Okay, dear readers, I’m going to change things up a bit today. Today you’re going to write my blog for me.
See, here’s the thing—I have nothing to say. This week has been a bit overwhelming for me as our family is facing a lot of changes with many decisions in the near future, and that’s sort of overshadowed any writing I would otherwise do. I’ll probably get into more detail in the future, and hey, there’s a lot of potential future blog posts that can come from all this, but for now, I don’t have anything to say. So here’s what I ask of you: Post a Bible verse in the comment section that has been meaningful to you in some way. It can be a Confirmation verse or a memory verse you’ve found to be particularly encouraging, or a verse that comforts you when all else fails. Write out the entire verse as well as the reference. Take a few minutes to consider before automatically spouting off an easy one like John 3:16 (not that there’s anything wrong with that…). Grab your Bible and take some time to look up a few different verses that have helped you through the years, then pick one and post it below. You can add comments of your own if you wish, but you don’t have to. The Bible verses alone should help and encourage each other. Consider this a sort of “chain letter” of Bible references, if you will. Post a Bible verse and pass it on so others can add to it as well.
To get it started, I’ll tell you one of the passages that has encouraged and strengthened me throughout the years. Mind you, we’ve had a lot of ups and downs and changes in our family thus far, and the change we now face might be overwhelming to me, but not to God. So I’ve always loved the following promise:
Hebrews 13:8: “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
No matter what changes take place around us, our one constant is Jesus and His promise of salvation, which will never change. Thank God for that!
So now, reader, it’s your turn. Grab your Bible and look up a verse or two to share with the rest of us, and may these verses encourage and uplift you today!

1 Peter 1:3-9
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, 5 who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 6 In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, 7 so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
[The best bit]
8 Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, 9 obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.”
Even if I don’t feel particularly joyful at the moment, usually by the time I’m done reading this I do. 🙂
