When He saw the crowds, He had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.

Matthew 9:36-38

Lord of the harvest,

You have said that the harvest is plentiful, and yet our earthly eyes struggle to see this. We see so much chaos and hostility in this world that it’s difficult to believe there could be a plentiful harvest of souls. Send workers into the harvest field of this world, O Lord. There are so many people who don’t know about You or don’t believe in You. Send people into their lives that they may hear the beautiful Gospel message and believe. We pray not just that You raise up faithful pastors, but that You send each and every Christian into the harvest field. Send each of us, Lord, into our respective fields! Give us courage and boldness to share Your Word with our friends, coworkers, neighbors, and family members. Let us see the unbelieving world as You see them, as an opportunity to witness. Let us view unbelievers with deep compassion and love, for they are but sheep without a shepherd. May we be persistent in prayer for those we know who are lost, and grant opportunities to share Your love with them.

Today I pray especially for the following people who don’t know You…

I pray that You help me witness by…

In Your name I pray. Amen.
