For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

Romans 1:16

Lord of all,

I confess that all too often I am ashamed of the Gospel. I am afraid to speak about You and to share my beliefs for fear of others mocking me. I am like those in Jesus’ day who believed in You but did not publicly confess this because “they loved the glory that comes from man more than the glory that comes from God” (John 12:43). Forgive me, O Lord, for my cowardice. Help me to remember that everyone who acknowledges You before men will also be acknowledged by You before Your Father in heaven, but whoever denies You before men, You will deny before Your Father in heaven (Matthew 10:32-33). In a cancel culture such as ours that shames those who disagree with the popular narrative of the day, it is often so much easier just to keep silent than to risk being publicly defamed. In a world that claims truth is relative, it is difficult to stand up and claim that there is such a thing as absolute truth, and it is found in the Bible. Please give me and all Christians strength to speak up and acknowledge You and the truths You have set forth in Scripture. Help us all to be a strong witness for You and shine as lights in a world of darkness, pointing always to You as the Light of the world.

Today I pray that you help me witness for you to the following people or in the following ways…

In Your name I pray. Amen.
