Her children rise up and call her blessed…

Proverbs 31:28a

Dear Lord,

We thank You for the gift of mothers. Thank you for their nurture, their dedication, and their loving care to their families. Thank You for those mothers who have already joined You in heaven, and for the legacy they passed along to their children. For those of us who have healthy relationships with our mothers, thank You for this great blessing. For those whose relationships are difficult or have been cut off, please give strength and wisdom, and where possible, grant healing in the relationship. Where abuse has occurred, bring about repentance and forgiveness. Grant those of us who are mothers wisdom as we raise our children, and allow us to pass along the Christian faith first and foremost. Help us raise responsible, respectful, hardworking children into adulthood, and grant patience during this process, especially to those with young children. For mothers who have adult children, move them to pray for their children and continue to be an influence in their lives even though their children are no longer living under the same roof. Allow children to honor their mothers (and fathers!), and bless parent-child relationships everywhere and at every stage.
