After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb…

Revelation 7:9a

Lord of all,

You have made mankind in Your own image, and in Your creativity You make each person unique. In your wisdom You create people with different hair colors, eye colors, facial features, and skin tones. There are those in our country who would have us believe that we are more prejudiced than we ever have been before. Certainly, there are those who are prejudiced against others with different skin color, and we pray that you bring to repentance those who hold such views. But to assert that everyone is inherently “racist” is absurd, and serves only to create more division and animosity. Please help our country and world realize that there is only one race, and that is the human race. Rid us of unfair prejudice and bias, and help us to move past the issue of skin color without making more of it than is necessary. People do not need training on “critical race theory” or “white privilege.” Instead, we must learn to recognize that all of mankind is created by You and therefore every life matters.

Today I pray for…

In Your name I pray. Amen.
