Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.

Proverbs 31:8-9

Dear Lord,

We know that You are good, and yet the world is full of so much evil that is not according to Your will. One such terrible evil is human trafficking, which enslaves many women and children each year in bondage at the hands of their oppressors, forcing them into sexual submission and abuse. Lord, clearly this is contrary to Your Word. You came to bring freedom to all, and it is Your desire that all people be treated with respect. We beg You to end this horrible practice. Turn the hearts of the offenders that they may repent of their sin and work instead to abolish this modern-day slavery. Be with those who actively fight against sex trafficking, and grant them success. Be with agencies that work to rescue and minister to the women who are forced into trafficking. Especially be with the women and children who are caught in this nightmare, that You may sustain them, provide a way of escape for them, and grant them hope and healing that can only be found in You. Your Word assures us that “the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and will execute justice for the needy” (Psalm 140:12). Please execute justice for these women and children, Lord, and maintain their cause. Raise up more people to speak out and fight against human trafficking, that we may abolish this type of slavery worldwide.

I pray for the following people or organizations…

In Your name I pray. Amen.

Side Note: If you’d like to get involved in ways to help fight human trafficking, one good option is the organization Love146. They provide survivor care and prevention education to children, as well as strategic collaboration with adults to help put an end to child trafficking.
