Holy Father, keep them in Your name, which You have given Me, that they may be one, even as we are one.

John 17:11b

Lord God,

On this day when Christians around the world gather in worship, bless Your Church on earth. We admit that there are many divisions among Christians. We confess that we often fight one another rather than fighting our common enemy, the devil. Bring unity to Your Church, but not at the cost of true doctrine. Allow Christians everywhere to have a correct understanding of Scripture, and bring those church bodies who have erred to repentance, that they may faithfully teach Your Word. Send faithful pastors to minister to Your people, and move the hearts of Christians everywhere to be faithful in attending worship. What an incredible blessing we have for freedom of worship in our country, yet many of us take that freedom for granted and choose other activities over regular worship, becoming apathetic about our faith. Move all Your children to gather together regularly to hear Your Word and receive Your sacraments, and move all Christians everywhere to reach out in love and service to their communities, that all may be reached with Your Gospel message.

Today I pray especially for the following pastor(s) and congregation(s)…

In Your name I pray. Amen.
