But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
2 Timothy 3:14-15
Lord God,
It is an exciting time of year for many young people, as they close one chapter of their lives to begin another. Be with and bless high school and college graduates, and allow them to use the skills and knowledge they have acquired to help them move forward. Be with high school graduates who will be entering college. Allow them to make a smooth adjustment and to be responsible students as they work toward a degree. Be with colleges and universities, that they may give a well-rounded education and truly prepare students for life after college. There are universities that use academia as a platform for furthering a political ideology or agenda, and we pray that You give students wisdom to discern this when it is present. Grant that young people have minds that are open to other people’s opinions, yet strength of character not to give up their own opinions or be easily swayed by popular rhetoric of the day. For college graduates, Lord, bless their transition into adult life. Help them to find meaningful work in their chosen fields, and to make valuable contributions to society. Most importantly, we pray that graduates of both high school and college who have been raised Christian will continue to attend church and nurture their faith. Do not allow them to fall away or be influenced by friends, classmates, professors, or society to turn their backs on the faith in which they have been raised. Bless campus chapels and ministries, and use Your children of all ages to witness for You.
I pray for the following graduates…
In Your name I pray. Amen.
