For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1

Galatians 5:1

Dear Lord,

On this Memorial Day, we take time to remember all those who have fought and died for our country and for the freedoms we now enjoy. Thank You for their sacrifice, Lord. Thank You for all who have been willing to serve our country over the years, for their dedication and selflessness. Please help us not to forget their service or make light of it. Let us not take freedom for granted or squander the opportunities we have in America. Be with families who have lost loved ones to war, and grant them the comfort and healing that only You can give. We thank You that we have a strong military, and for all who serve in our armed forces. Keep them strong, committed, and vigilant, that they may be ready at all times to answer the call of duty when it comes. May we be an example to the world of what freedom looks like, and when our freedoms are threatened, allow us to respond appropriately. Yet let us always remember that no matter what earthly freedoms we possess, You have set us free from our sins because Your Son gave the ultimate sacrifice by giving His life for us.

Please be with the following families who have lost loved ones…
Continue to give strength to those who currently serve in the military…

In Your name I pray. Amen.
